According to eMarketer, the size of the Internet radio ad market is approximately $500 million, but I guess that depends on who you talk to. TargetSpot, the only independent company I know of exclusively specializing in online radio ads, seems to be in a great position as this new medium takes off!

Katz Media Group (owned by Clear Channel) is the monopoly for radio ads - they cover 3,000 radio stations. Their only competition, Interep, is closing their doors right now.
Katz Media, Clear Channel and all the large names started a new group called the Katz Online Network, to sell ads for their current online radio streams. They claim to have 5 million unique listeners per week already, which is quite large.
